The VLT Survey Telescope (VST) is part of the ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT) located in the Atacama Desert, Chile.

The VST is designed for surveying the sky, i.e. taking wide-angle images and covering large parts of the sky quickly. Its field of view is about one square degree, or about the size of four full Moons. It can capture images from ultraviolet through visible wavelengths to the near-infrared (0.3 to 1.0 microns).
